Family and Friends!!!
I DID IT!!! I FINISHED MY THREE WEEKS AT THE MTC!!!
Let me clarify for some of my friends that didn't quite understand before! I'm not in Idaho quite yet, I have been in the Missionary Training Center in Provo Utah for the past three weeks, but I leave to go to Boise tomorrow morning! And I am really excited about it! It's getting cold here and there's snow on the mountains around us! But no snow on us quite yet.
So on Tuesday night we had our Tuesday night devotional. Before every devotional, we sing prelude hymns to invite the spirit in. The speaker for the devotional was QUENTIN L. COOK!!! When he came in, we were singing "How Great Thou Art" and we were just getting to the chorus and we stood up for him because he's an apostle, and it was AWESOME. I got chills! He talked about the Book of Mormon and had the church head historian show us some of the actual manuscripts from Joseph Smith's translation- and I mean the very papers that Oliver Cowdery wrote on for Joseph, it was incredible!!! I love the Book of Mormon and know it testifies of Jesus Christ and if you read it and pray with real intent, God will manifest its truth to you! The devotional was broadcasted to all the other MTCs in the world! And I was part of the choir so I got to sing for missionaries across the world!
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday were all the same. They were good days! I had fun playing basketball and volleyball with my district and I learned a lot from the classes! Our teachers are the best!!! On Wednesday and Friday we taught Alex, who is awesome! We talked about prophets and we showed her a picture of Russell M. Nelson, and she got chills! On Friday we taught her about our purpose on earth and why we are here and she is like a spiritual sponge! She just soaked up all the information and she said that it makes sense. She's so cute! On Thursday we taught a young man named Caleb, who is nice! We taught him about God's love and how he answers our prayers. After our lesson with Caleb we ran into Paul (who we taught last week and Elders from our district were teaching him this week) and he said he loves us! And we love him too! He is so awesome, and he said his lesson with the Elders went so great! The elders told us that Paul really opened up to him and even started crying. We all love Paul, Paul is awesome! On Saturday Caleb couldn't meet with us again because he was out of town so instead we taught a girl named Sarah who was amazing! She asked awesome questions and I hope we were able to answer them for her.
On Sunday we had another devotional! We actually had two. We had a departing missionaries devotional which was just about how we should take what we learned with us on our missions. Oh yeah, there was also a bird in the cafeteria and it was chaos! It was flying around and tweeting! It was actually pretty cute! At the actual devotional the MTC president and his wife spoke! They're from Gilbert, Arizona! They were the Gilbert temple presidents until they got called as the MTC presidents. Sister LeSeur talked about gratitude and President LeSeur talked about having faith! It was a great devotional. We had district review after that, and it was bittersweet because it was our last one as a full district. Some of the Elders left Monday, Some left this morning, and then all the sisters and one elder companionship leaves tomorrow! One of the Elders that got called to serve in Australia got reassigned to visa wait in Tempe, Arizona! His name is Elder Nall, so if you're in that area, look for him!
Yesterday was our last day of classes! Hooray! We got to teach a girl named Erika, who is SO SMART! She's awesome. Last night during study time we went up to our classroom to clean it so that it looks nice for the next people who use it. And today I'm just packing and getting ready to go to Boise! Whoo whoo! I don't know when my Boise P-day will be, but it will probably change so just be aware of that! I love you all! Please feel free to email me back and ask questions and tell me how you are or just hi! :)
Sincerely,
Sister Hatch
