Week 2- MTC

October 15, 2019
Hello pals!

Boy this week has been wild! Mostly lots of classes and TRCs! Unfortunately, there were few people I forgot to add to my list last week, but I also have some new people on my list! So welcome to my email list!
So on Tuesday night we had a devotional where Sister Bingham spoke! She's the general relief society president! She and her husband talked about faith and overcoming obstacles! It was cool!

On Wednesday day of last week we had a workshop about technology! I learned a lot of cool things about the gospel library app, and I'm excited to use them! I already have used some of them. I think it's cool that the Lord blessed us with so many resources! We also taught Carrie on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and she is AWESOME! Sister Shipley and I love her! She asked so many great questions and just had a really sweet spirit. Wednesdays at the MTC are always fun because all the new missionaries come and it's just so fun! It's also fun to not be the new one! We have to watch all the safety zone videos before we leave the MTC, and they are all so cheesy.

Thursday was a really weird day. It started off the same but Sister Shipley and I were so tired for some reason, but thank goodness we had a little time to take a short nap. One of the Elders in my district is really getting on my nerves, and I'm not talking to him right now, Haha. That night we kept messing around and built a fort, and we just kept acting stupid which was such a dumb idea, because the next morning was awful!

First we had service, and we had to clean the bathroom which wasn't bad, the vacuums are straight out of Ghost Busters. But we all just felt crummy and Sister Shipley and I felt like we weren't in sync and we were having a hard time connecting with the spirit, then Brother Martin showed us a video called "missionary work and the atonement" and it was extremely humbling. You should all take a moment to watch it! It talked about how we shouldn't expect the work to be easy when it was never easy for the Savior. I was really grateful for it, and it turned my whole day around. I was almost instantly in a better mood. I felt lucky that I only have to deal with a very very very small fraction of the things the Savior had to go through. That day we taught our last lesson with Carrie, which went well! We taught her about the restoration and we told her that we love her and she is just the cutest and sweetest!

Saturday was more relaxing, we had study time in the morning so we had more time to prepare ourselves for the day and just get some spiritual nourishment before jumping into our schedule. Have you watched the new Book of Mormon videos? They're awesome! We taught Paul that day and he is also just awesome! Everyone we've had for the TRC is just amazing! He got really personal and told us all his concerns, and we got to teach him about the atonement! Most of our week has been classes, but I really like classes because I learn a lot and our teachers are awesome!

Sunday was really good! We had relief society and then sacrament meeting! Sacrament meeting is kind of scary though because they don't tell you if you're giving the talk until they announce it over the pulpit, so they ask everyone to come prepared with a talk on a specific subject.

We also went to choir practice! This week we are singing "Lead, Kindly Light"! It's a beautiful song, and if you have a moment you should look into the background of the song! It makes it a lot more meaningful. We also had a devotional that night and Sheri Dew came to speak to us! She is so awesome! She talked about the prophet and the importance of the gathering of Israel! After the devotional we had district council and made new district goals! We are not going to use the term "ministering" to describe flirting anymore. There is this one elder in another zone who always leaves his companion to go talk to sisters. So we always say "stop ministering" but we aren't going to say that anymore because it's ridiculous. I also saw my cousin, Elder Doerr and he leaves for the mission field today, so I got to hug him before he goes! We also got lots of pictures together!

Yesterday was great! Mostly classes again but we also got to teach a girl named Alex! I told her that my best friend's name is Alex and we taught her about the atonement too and a little about the restoration! She's the sweetest too, and like Carrie, she loves to hug us before we go! I just love all the people I have met throught the TRC! They are so awesome!

Anyway friends, that is how my week is! I hope you are all well and I hope you know that I love and miss you! Tell me how you are!

With Love,
Sister Hatch

P.S. I love Sister Mittens!
