Week 16- My Preparation Day Was Moved

January 21, 2020
Hey everyone! My preparation day was moved this week to today, which is why I am a day late! But today we get to go to the temple, and I'm really excited about that!
Nothing too great happened this week, it was a lot of slammed doors and "we are not interested". But on Monday night, it was snowing and we were out making visits at the last hour of our day, and my bike slipped on ice, and by some miracle, I didn't fall! My bike did, it was completely sideways. But somehow I landed on my feet! It was a miracle.
We had exchanges on Tuesday to Wednesday,  and that was really fun! Sister Thetford is awesome, she is so funny! We knocked on someone's front door, and they didn't answer, so we went around and knocked on their back door, and still no answer, but it was just funny!
Wednesday I felt a prompting to go see someone we have tried contacting a lot and he is usually not home, and that day, he was! It was pretty awesome! We didn't start teaching him sadly, because he's not interested in being taught. But he was nice and told we could come back and share short messages about Jesus Christ! I just thought it was cool that he was home at all. Wednesday night we had a lesson with Heather, and it was cool because her step son Ethan (who is on a mission in Phoenix) got to skype in, and they happened to be in the stake center by the Phoenix temple, and since we were having a lesson about temples and families, they walked outside and showed us it, and I cried! I love that temple, I miss it so much! I got to tell Heather about my experiences with the temple, and it was awesome :) we also had a lesson with Kim and Betty, and we brought Katelyn Stanger with us, who is preparing to leave for a mission soon! She is so awesome! She bore a beautiful testimony and I know Kim really felt the spirit.
On Thursday we did our usual, service, weekly planning, we also had a quick lesson with Angela, which was interesting. She's been in an interesting place lately. Please send prayers!
Friday we had district council, where we were informed that our P-day would be moved to Tuesday so we could go to the temple! After that all the to Monday (besides church on Sunday) was nonstop trying to find someone to teach, whether they were a potential that other missionaries had met, or someone who used to be taught, or literally any stranger walking down the street, or tracting. I'm so tired from the last few days. We got nothing. Not one person interested in hearing about Jesus Christ, it was so sad. There was one family in particular who are not members and their son is and he is also in the Phoenix Arizona mission serving, told us not to come back. And that hurt a lot. I just kept thinking about how his son is out doing what we are doing, and he still was rejecting Jesus Christ. I was feeling pretty sad. We stopped by Sister Malmgren's after that and told her about our day and had a good heart to heart moment, and she helped us feel better. Other than that though, not much came of our efforts. But it's okay! We get to go to the temple today!
I love you all! Let me know how you are!
Mosiah 16:9
He is the light and the life of the world; yea, a light that is endless, that can never be darkened; yea, and also a life which is endless, that there can be no more death.
Sincerely,
Sister Hatch
