Week 15- Jonesing for Missionary Work

January 13, 2020
Hello Everybody! I don't even remember what happened this week but I'll try to!

Sunday through Wednesday was pretty much us just getting the apartment extra clean and getting Sister Tunstall packed! We met a cute marine veteran named Arthur who told us some really awesome stories! He is cute, in an old man kind of way! It was sad to see some of our people say goodbye to Sister Tunstall, but such is the life of a missionary!
Thursday came and it was transfers! I got my new companion, Sister Jones (hence my title of this email)! She is from Belle Fourche, South Dakota! She is awesome, we have a lot in common! We just jumped right into the work! We did service at the foodbank and then we went out and saw the people! Nothing came of it, but it was still really good to be up and doing!
Friday morning we got a call from someone we are teaching and it was STRESSFUL. I hadn't even been leading the area for a full 24 hours before her life started falling apart. I can't include details, but believe me when I say she could use A LOT of extra prayers. We had district council that morning, and the APs crashed it! They just showed up unannounced... I'm not even sure how they knew where we were and what time we had it at. Elder Bradshaw is our new district leader, and he has been out as long as me and it was his first official district meeting, and so the APs made us all nervous! But it was all good, we actually had a great district council. That night we made some good contacts at the retirement home nearby called Salmon Creek! That was fun!
Saturday was a basic missionary day, meeting people, talking to people, trying to help people! Nothing too amazing happened, but just the general goodness of serving the Lord!
Sunday was actually really awesome! At one of our sacrament meetings a kid was giving a talk, and he said, "without the Book of Mormon, it's be like Thanos himself snapped his fingers and BOOM- Half your testimony is GONE" I was trying to be reverent but that was funny and I was dying laughing. We went to Salmon Creek's sacrament meeting too, so we went to four sacrament meetings! I enjoyed it a lot! We had lunch and then more meetings with our wards and then dinner and then we went to one of our Bishop's houses! It was a good week!
Anyway, that is all I got for you right now, folks! I'm sorry my week wasn't more entertaining!

1 Nephi 19:9
And the world, because of their iniquity, shall judge him to be a thing of naught; wherefore they scourge him, and he suffereth it; and they smite him, and he suffereth it. Yea, they spit upon him, and he suffereth it, because of his loving kindness and his long-suffering towards the children of men.

I love you all! Let me know how you are doing!

Sincerely,
Sister Hatch
