Week 18- I met a nice grizzly bear

February 3, 2020
Heyyyyy everybody!
This week was another slow one but I do have a few highlights!
First off, I have had a lot of chances to "mourn with those that mourn", which has been really helpful for me. It's amazing how much it brings the spirit in to just have empathy for another person. I don't know if I have mentioned David before, but he is someone we teach who has experienced a loss of a loved one, and I have felt like every time we have been there, my companion or the member we bring testifies of the Plan of Salvation and that he will see his loved one again, and they give really beautiful testimonies, but it's not what he needs right now. So last time we went over and the member we were with was giving a beautiful testimony and David looked a little annoyed so I just said something like, "David, I can't imagine what it would be like to go through something you have gone through, that must be really hard. I don't understand how you are feeling and I'm so sorry" and then he was like, "you're going to make me cry" and then we all laughed, but it really taught me the truth of mourning with those that mourn.
On Tuesday we went to visit an inactive member I had never met before. She lives in this huge house on a ridge that is surrounded by a gate. So we walked up and knocked on the door. She came up and looked out the window and said "oh no, not these girls" and then opened the door and said, "come in, you are the worst ones I've EVER had!" You guys, she was SO British! She said "Gail! Bring me my tea! And get these girls some too!" Then she turned to us and informed us that it was herbal tea. She was just so funny! I told her that she was sweet and she said, "oh no, I'm not sweet, I'm British! I'm very very British!" And she had her friend bring us some herbal tea. She had these portraits of her grandchildren on easels and her house was just so..... British ðŸ˜‚ it was wonderful, she kept saying we were terrible because the Sister missionaries haven't been to visit her in a long time. She was great, we loved her! We promised to visit her more!
Sister Jones and I have been getting up and going running, and that has been SO FUN! We found this great tree :)
On Friday we finally met with Kelly again, it was short though because we were late and she had to leave soon, but she told us that she had a dream she became a member,  and she felt peace! So that was exciting.
We also got a call from someone telling us that they have a referral for us, so that is great! I've also lost track of how many times we have shared the message of the restoration and the first vision, because we have been setting up lessons with members and teaching them that so we can gain trust and hopefully get them excited about missionary work! We had dinner with a member whose son is the mascot at his high school, so naturally we had to take a picture.
Not much else happened. I love you all! Let me know how you are all doing!

2 Nephi 2:25
Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy.

Sincerely,
Sister Hatch
