Hello everyone, Happy Monday!
OKAY everyone, I don't remember most of the week but I'll try to.
Monday night, my bike tire got flat and so we had to walk all day Tuesday, which was fun! We went and saw Sandra (the British woman) and she is the funniest, cutest person ever! She invited us over for scones on Friday morning! We had a lesson with Heather that night about tithing and fasting, and that went really well!
Wednesday we had a lesson with Kelly, and that was good! She asked us questions about what we believe about heaven, and that was cool! Our dinner that night was with the Johnson family, whose son was on American Idol and made it to the top 20, so that was neat. Supposedly he's a really good personal friend of David Archuleta too. Just another example of the random and crazy people you come across in Idaho.
Thursday was zone conference, which was great! There was a stake president there who got to bear his testimony, and he talked about how Idaho is the fastest growing state, and he told us "specifically your mission" he continued to talk about how many people have said something like, "I don't know why we moved to Boise, it just felt like the right thing to do"- and it is true, SO many people say that- and then the stake president continued by talking about how it is a gathering, that a ton of people from all walks of life are moving here (yes, even people that aren't members of the church, there's actually a lot of other people here) and that we are the missionaries that were purposefully selected to preach the good news here in this gathering. That brought me a lot of peace because I was having a hard time overcoming the stigma of the Idaho Boise mission (y'all have no idea how rude people are when you don't get called to a foreign place, or at least to a cool state like New York or something). But zone conference also had a lot of great training that helped me want to do better and be better!
On Friday morning our scone date with Sandra got cancelled, which was sad. We biked to district council all the way in Eagle, which took a while but it was fun! We actually ran into the other sisters in our district, and so we biked together, which was hilarious! We didn't realize how funny we look and we were laughing at how people on the road probably saw these four Sister Missionaries run into each other and then start biking together! I took a funny picture. Then we biked back to Boise after, and there was this huge hill we had to go up and I was dying, but it's okay, it was really good for me
We went to the senior center and helped blow up balloons for Valentine's day, and then we just put them in bags and stacked them up so they could get used later, it looked funny!
On Saturday we were at the apartment complex in our area and we went into the clubhouse so I could use the restroom, and there was a young mother trying to set up a party for her 1 year old boy, and we didn't know them but we offered to help and it was fun to help her set it up and she was really grateful so it made me feel happy!
We also went to the Jones's to teach Maggie and that was fun! We did the Christlike Attribute activity which was fun
Sunday there was a lot of church, but we also had a lesson with a family whose dad used to be a member but he pulled his records. His daughter from his first marriage lives in Nampa and just got her mission call to Columbia, South Carolina (the same mission my brother served in) and so we invited her to come practice the lesson with us! It was an interesting lesson, but I think it went okay? But it was fun either way!
So that's how my week went! How are all of you? Let me know! Love you all! Have a great week!
Ether 2:12
Behold, this is a choice land, and whatsoever nation shall possess it shall be free from bondage, and from captivity, and from all other nations under heaven, if they will but serve the God of the land, who is Jesus Christ, who hath been manifested by the things which we have written.
