Week 12- The weather here is literally the same as Arizona

December 23, 2019
HELLO EVERYONE IT'S MONDAY AGAIN! Isn't that crazy? Y'all, it's not cold here at all anymore. It was snowing in November but today it was literally 65° and was sunny and felt like Arizona, so I don't even know what Idaho is anymore!

SO I don't remember if I put this in a past email, but on the Day of service that the Meridian North stake had on December 7th, a person from one of the organizations offered to buy us a bike out of the blue, and this Monday we went with them to Walmart and got a bike! It was amazing! And that night we went and showed the Christ Child video with Maggie and her family, and that was really good!
Tuesday we threw together a last minute hot chocolate stand at Albertsons and gave out free hot chocolate and asked people what they love about Christmas and had them write it down. It was interesting to see how distrusting people are of free things, not a lot of people came up to us for hot chocolate... we had way too much left over. But after that our district went to the Idaho Pizza Company place and a nice man paid for our food! We also got to ride our bikes for the first time that day, and that was really awesome! We also went to a relief society activity and that was great!
Wednesday we did service at an assisted living place for people with memory problems and got to paint nails for the old ladies there, and that was really fun! It was kind of funny because when we got there, there were Elders there who were totally just painting their nails and chatting with these ladies like they were working a salon. They were like, "what color do you want, Nancy? I like this pink one"... it was just funny. We stopped by Kim and Betty's that night and found out Kim had been in a really car accident and she just looked so beat up. We told her about priesthood blessings and told her we would find someone to give her one and she said that would be good!
Thursday I got special permission to call my parents because they were all together in a cabin and wouldn't be together for Christmas, so I called them that day. We had our regular service at the food bank and weekly planned. THAT NIGHT WE HAD A MIRACLE. Someone we set up a lesson with cancelled, but it's okay because we went to see a girl named Codee we had contacted in the past, but her parents don't usually let us in, but that night THEY LET US IN! It was amazing! So we started teaching her and her dad and gave her a Book of Mormon! She was so excited to have us there! She is so sweet!
Friday we had zone conference, and the training was really good! I learned a lot about teaching around commitments. Then we had a talent show, which went for so long, but it was funny! The APs and President did a skit to "Lost in the Woods" from Frozen 2, and it was hilarious! I loved it. That night we went with some members to give Kim a priesthood blessing, and holy heck! The spirit was so strong! Not only was Kim able to feel the Heavenly Father has for her, but she felt the love of us and of the members! Sister Frederick came too because her husband helped with the blessing, and was so awesome! She arranged for the relief society to bring her meals! It was so sweet!
Saturday we had a stake correlation meeting, and the mission president came! It was cool to get him more involved in a closer way, so that was awesome! We had a lesson with Angela and Trevohn and we were able to help them understand more what changes need to be made for Angela to be baptized. They may not be ready for it right now, but I know they felt the spirit in that lesson and know they need to work on coming to church and growing their faith. We had to take Angela off date for now, but that's okay because everything happens in the Lord's timing! That night we also went "illuminating" again, but this time in a different ward! It was so fun! Except I smacked my head on the car door while making a get away, but I'm fine!
Sunday was really awesome! We went to three special sacrament meetings, and there were SO many people! There were a lot of people in our other wards too! It was so great to hear all the musical newfound and testimonies! CODEE CAME TO CHURCH! So it was really incredible! Sunday night we visited the Crane family who are awesome members and their daughter is a return missionary! She told us some crazy and miraculous stories from her mission, that really inspired me to try my best to be bold and be in tune with the spirit! She told us about a story where she got attacked by a man who told her, "you fear me" and she said that the Lord opened her mouth and said through her, "No. You fear me." And the man ran away. It was an amazing story, and it made me realize how much faith and conviction I still need to gain to be a powerful missionary. It was just a really great time! Anyway, love you all a lot! Let me know how you are!

Moroni 7:13
But behold, that which is of God inviteth and enticeth to do good continually; wherefore, every thing which inviteth and enticeth to do good, and to love God, and to serve him, is inspired of God.

Sincerely,
Sister Hatch
