Week 20- Queen of Flats

February 17, 2020
Hello Everyone!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY ❤❤❤
This week was good! Last Monday night, we went and visited a member named Jennifer Morgan and she was so sweet! We got talking to her and she opened up and told us how things are really hard for her right now, and so we all had a good cry and hopefully some of the words we said brought her some comfort.
On Tuesday evening we were still out trying to find people, and we texted our friend Kelly to see how she was doing, and she said she wasn't feeling the greatest. We asked if there was anything we could do to help, and she jokingly said, "you could walk my dogs". So we were like, OKAY! and we walked her dogs with her! They are cute!
On Wednesday morning we were out trying to find someone to teach, when we came across a woman who was outside smoking. We talked to her for a bit and eventually we asked her if she went to church she told us, "My husband and I are looking for a true church, and not just one that is about their pastors" MIRACLE! I thought, "hey! We can help you!" So she told us to come back on Saturday night, which didn't end up working out so hopefully we can meet with her soon! Wednesday night we had dinner with a family who invited their neighbor, Karla who had a lot of questions about the church, so that was a fun discussion to have! When we shared our dinner message, that was the only time the whole night when she was quiet, I think she felt the spirit! Then we biked like crazy to go teach a young women activity with some Elders and that was fun! The young women are so cute and they are fun to interact with! And of course, we get to hug them and the Elders don't! But we talked about the First Vision and about how they can receive personal revelation and when we spoke about God's love, one of the girls was crying, it was sweet.
On Thursday we had frozen yogurt with Sister Blaser and her friend Meredith and it was fun to get to know her and we offered to clean her shower so that she doesn't have to hurt her back, so hopefully she will let us come serve her!
Friday was wack. And I mean, wiggity wack. We set an ambitious goal to heart attack like 70 doors on bikes. But first we had district council, so we biked out to Eagle to go to that and let me just say, biking up the hill on the way back gives me a heart attack every single time. But it's fun! BUT GUESS WHAT before we could go heart attack any doors, MY TIRE GOT FLAT AGAIN. Okay, so y'all know how my tire got flat like two weeks ago? Well we sent the bike off to get it fixed, but luckily we had a spare on I could ride in the mean time. But then THAT ONE GOT FLAT but by that time we had the other one back so it was fine. But then this one got FLAT AGAIN before we heart attacked all 70 doors! Gaaaahhhhh but we managed to get 49/70 done on Valentine's day, so I thought that was pretty good considering we got a flat and had district council in the morning. We finished the rest of the doors on Saturday!
Saturday was great and not great because we had 4 lessons set up and they all fell through BUT we also had a good finding day. We were trying to find someone our ward mission leader asked us to visit. We had to tract because we knew which building she lived in but not the apartment number. We didn't find her but we found this guy named Pete, who opened the door with nothing but a towel on, so that was awkward. But he asked us to come back, he said, "Please come back. My life is in disrepair. I have met with girl missionaries before and I know the protocol and this is not it. But please come back" and so even though it was awkward, we'll go back when we have another woman with us! When we were walking back to our house for companionship study, we met a woman out walking a dog. She told us her name and we were talking for a while (she has a really cute laugh) and eventually she told us that her mom passed away recently and it was really hard on her, and she started to cry so we gave her a hug and tried to comfort her and she was so sweet! We gave her our number and told her she can call us anytime, so hopefully she will!
We kept walking and then we met this guy who was like, "are you missionaries?" And we said, "yes, have you ever met with missionaries before?" And he said, "Have I? There's a former MTC President at my house! Want to meet him?" And so we went a met the former MTC President of the Philippines MTC! That was pretty cool! And not only that, but he was like, "You should teach my granddaughter! Let me give her your number!" So we'll be following up with that soon!
Transfer boards came out Saturday night and...... I'M STAYING! I'm excited to spend another transfer in this area! I LOVE the people here! What I was most surprised about was Sister Jones is leaving, even though she just got here! She is going to Caldwell, and my new companion is Sister Beckstrand, who actually came out at the same time as me! So I'm excited to be her companion!
Not much happened on Sunday except church AND we actually had dinner with members who invited their friend who also had questions about the church! That was great to get to answer her questions!
Anyway, that's all this week, folks! It was pretty good! Let me know how you're all doing! I love you all!

Mormon 9:12
Behold, he created Adam, and by Adam came the fall of man. And because of the fall of man came Jesus Christ, even the Father and the Son; and because of Jesus Christ came the redemption of man.
